Ignaugural DECA Team Posts Wins at First Invitational

Three SMA students took home trophies as SMA’s inaugural DECA team made a great showing at the North Metro DECA Invitational in Northglenn on October 20. The future business leaders and entrepreneurs sat for a 100-question DECA exam and competed in individual and team events.

SMA Business Teacher and DECA Sponsor Jim Konrad said, "I was so impressed with our students' maturity, responsibility, and overall demeanor." 

The team is now preparing for the District #5 DECA Conference at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in mid-November. Members also include freshman Jackie Sevilla, sophomore Marlow Blanchard, junior Naomi Conrad, and seniors Claire Qualls and Sofia Xie.
