High School Curriculum

Physical fitness contributes to the health, well-being, and academic success of our students—and it builds the community we value greatly at St. Mary’s Academy.

Our business program supports the development of financial literacy skills and builds a foundation for students considering a post-secondary business pathway.

In challenging foundational and specialized courses, our students further their knowledge of and appreciation for the English language and literature.

Graduates of all-girls schools, like St. Mary’s Academy, are significantly more likely to pursue STEM majors and careers compared to those from coed schools, thanks to the confidence and understanding fostered through targeted instructional strategies, immediate feedback, and peer support.

Embedded in our STEAM curriculum to promote cross-disciplinary learning, creativity, and collaboration, our performing arts programs offer students the opportunity to explore all types of performing arts.

Our science curriculum develops in students the ability to read scientific material and communicate scientific work with clarity, cohesiveness, and meaning.

We instill in our students the conviction that every action can effect positive change. Our service-learning program lays the groundwork for our students to become exceptional agents of change.

Students engage in geography, history, and political science studies through the required Global Citizenship (Grade 9) and interdisciplinary World Visions (Grade 10) courses, followed by diverse electives in Grades 11 and 12 that develop critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.

Our theology curriculum encompasses a broad range of topics within a framework that incorporates essential elements of Catholic teaching as outlined by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

As a valuable aspect of our interdisciplinary STEAM approach, our visual arts program enables students to develop technical skills and a design-thinking orientation to advanced courses.

In the world languages program, students advance through several levels of Spanish, French, or Mandarin courses, including Advanced Placement language and culture courses.
