Middle School Academics and Arts

The co-educational Middle School focuses on supporting the dynamic developmental stage of our students. We understand the pivotal phase of social growth and self-discovery that our students navigate as they stride towards high school. Our Middle School is more than just a place of learning; it's a supportive community that sees, values, and respects each individual.

Service Learning

For our students, service isn't a requirement; it's a calling for life to be an agent of change. Community Action Teams of students work together throughout the year, partnering with local organizations to perform service at school and on-site. Middle School students participate in service learning projects throughout the year and celebrate a Service Learning Day each quarter. Students volunteer at nonprofits like Soles4Souls, Angelica Village, Newborns in Need, Child Rescue Foundation, and more.

Loretto Leaders

Each quarter, four students and a faculty member who exemplify our Loretto School Values of faith, community, justice, and respect are nominated by their peers and celebrated at an assembly. It's another way that SMA nurtures leadership qualities among our students.

Wellness

We support our students physically, socially, and emotionally because we know that secure, confident, and healthy students will approach life with a strong sense of purpose and integrity. Through our daily Community Action Team advisory, we actively cultivate social-emotional strengths. This deliberate approach empowers our students to thrive academically, and as well-rounded individuals poised for meaningful engagement with the world around them. The Middle School has two dedicated counselors and three learning specialists, and SMA has a full-time school nurse.

Spirituality

Our educational approach centers on cultivating Catholic values and nurturing spiritual growth in our students. We provide a foundation that aligns academic excellence with strong moral principles through masses, prayer services, and values-driven lessons. These experiences encourage reflection, connection, and a deeper understanding of one's faith. We empower our students to embrace our Loretto School Values to positively influence the world as leaders grounded in their Catholic identity.
