This will be Coach Gallegos’s first year at St. Mary’s Academy. Coach Gallegos has a total of 22 years of coaching experience in various sports. Although basketball has been a constant focus over the years, he has multiple coaching championships in middle school football, All Star club basketball, and multiple top finishes in Girls 6th-8th grades AAU divisions. Coach Gallegos is a Colorado Native, growing up in Grand Junction where he attended Bookcliff Middle School and was a member of the 7th and 8th grade District Championship basketball teams. While attending 5A Central High School, he participated in football and the basketball program, which won the 1989-90 State Basketball Championship. After graduation he chose to serve in the U.S. Army then returned home and settled in Moffat County, Colorado to start a family.
In Moffat County, Coach Gallegos started coaching K-8 Co-ed basketball, track, and boys’ football. In 2007 he accepted a position as JV head coach and varsity assistant with Moffat County 4A HS Boys Basketball, achieving two Sweet 16 finishes. In 2010 he took two years off to concentrate on building his outfitting company before returning to high school level coaching in 2012. As a head assistant varsity and C coach in 2014, he enjoyed a 3A Western Slope District Championship and a 5th place in 3A State Playoffs. He then relocated to Platte Canyon HS in 2014-15 taking over as Head Coach in 2015. Coach Gallegos continued as the Head Boys Basketball Coach achieving a 2nd Round District Play Off birth in 2016 and was the Co-Ed Throws Coach 2014-2017. Coach left Platte Canyon HS this year as he relocated to the Littleton area.
Coach Gallegos also loves to pursue his other interests including golf, which he competed in the PGA amateur McGladrey National Tournament 2009, hiking, outfitting, guiding, and riding motorcycles. Coach is a father of 4 children, 2 older boys who served in the U.S. Army, and a son and daughter attending school in Jefferson County. He has always enjoyed being part of and giving back to the Communities and Sports programs, which have supported and shaped his long-term love of sports.

Assistant Coach: Molly Rohrer

Molly grew up in the Denver area and played basketball at Cherry Creek High School. At the collegiate level, she spent her first three years of eligibility at Colorado State University- Pueblo. While there, she was a part of multiple RMAC regular season and tournament championship teams. Individually, she earned the honors of Freshman of the Year, two time Player of the Year, and Academic Player of the Year. She was also a part of theFirst Team All-RMAC, the RMAC All-Tournament Team, and the First Team All-South Central Region. At the end of her career in Pueblo, she had set school records in blocks per game, single-season blocks, and career blocks. She then transferred to the division 1 level at Northern Arizona University to finish her collegiate career. She is really excited to start her coaching career and be a part of helping the program.

Hi, my name is Katie Crowley! I have grown up playing basketball for twenty plus years. I began by playing rec basketball and travel ball in 1st-5th grade. I played AAU for seven years; EJ hoops, AN’A basketball, CBC and Elevation. I played varsity basketball my Sophomore, Junior and Senior year at Arapahoe High School. I was a captain my Senior year. I ended my playing career at St Olaf College in Minnesota. I was a leader my Sophomore through Senior year. In addition to playing I have experience coaching and working camps. I coached first grade through eighth grade while at Arapahoe. I also coached middle school and high schoolers at the Ty Lawson basketball camp with one of my club teams. In college, we worked with high school teams as well. Currently, I am working at Advanced Orthopedics and I am in the process of applying for medical school. I am excited for this season and to pass my knowledge of the game to the team!
