Head Coach: Kristina DeHerrera
My name is Kristina DeHerrera and I’m excited to join the SMA community as the new varsity tennis coach. I started playing tennis when I was seven or eight years old and played varsity tennis and volleyball all four years of high school and qualified for state tennis multiple times. I also taught lessons and ran clinics for kids ages 3-12 in Pueblo. After college, I coached a varsity girls’ team in Syracuse, NY while working nights at my full time job. When I moved back to Colorado, I was an assistant coach at Monarch High School in Louisville for both the boys and girls tennis teams while attending law school. I love the game and have learned through my adult life, as I continue to play recreationally, that I also really enjoy coaching/teaching but with my work schedule it hasn’t been feasible until recently. I have a BS in Chemical Engineering from Colorado State University and a J.D. from the University of Colorado. I’m currently working as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in my free time I enjoy cooking, reading, and lots of outdoor activities including volleyball, fishing, backpacking, biking, and cross country skiing.

Assistant Coach : Brad Talbot
Coach Brad has enjoyed playing tennis his whole life. He decided to play tennis at Franklin and Marshall College because he knew that it would be a fun, life time activity. Coach Brad was the captain for his college team for two years, including the only undefeated season in school history his senior year. After college he has played for may years in USTA tournaments and Team Tennis at Arapahoe Tennis Club in Colorado. Coach Brad's coaching philosophy is simple; help the girls learn to love the game, improve techniques and skills and celebrate their successes. No matter the skill level Coach Brad loves to see his team have fun in practice and matches! Coach Brad's daughter Betts is a 2013 St. Mary's Academy alumna and is currently is apart of the high school lacrosse coaching staff. Outside of tennis Coach Brad enjoys many other activities including golf, biking, fly fishing and gardening.
Assistant Coach : Allison Tweedie
I am excited to be an assistant tennis coach at SMA this year! I played high school tennis and college division 1 tennis and loved my experiences with tennis in my life. I hope to instill the love of tennis and movement in one’s life. Hard work and the skills you learn on the court, show up off the court too. Plus, making friends through tennis is the best! I have 3 kids and 2 dogs so when not taking care of this crew I love to hike in the mountains, watch great movies and laugh.
