Ariana has played tennis for over 20 years, from childhood to high school varsity all four years and throughout college both overseas and in the United States.
Ariana earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and a Master's of Education in Curriculum & Instruction focusing on Applied Behavior Analysis from Arizona State University. Ariana is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the Middle School Athletic Director for St. Mary's Academy.
Ariana's coaching style focuses on how each student learns differently, so the coaches job is to adapt to teach the way that they learn. Her goals for the team are to increase their foundational skills, consistency, and mental health & wellness using a collaborative approach with the athletes and other coaches. Beyond playing tennis, Ariana and her husband are catholic and teach Sunday school at their parish. They also enjoy watching movies, going on walks, and playing with her cat.
Assistant Coach: Allison Tweedie
I am excited to be an assistant tennis coach at SMA this year! I played high school tennis and college division 1 tennis and loved my experiences with tennis in my life. I hope to instill the love of tennis and movement in one’s life. Hard work and the skills you learn on the court, show up off the court too. Plus, making friends through tennis is the best! I have 3 kids and 2 dogs so when not taking care of this crew I love to hike in the mountains, watch great movies and laugh.
