Emily graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor's degree in Youth and Community Studies. She currently teaches 4th grade at St. Anne's Episcopal School. Emily began her coaching career at the age of 19 at St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Austin. She attended her classes at UT each morning, and would end her days with a group of wonderfully dedicated girls. She coached at the JV and varsity levels in Austin until 2013.
At that time, Emily moved to her hometown of Houston, TX to pursue teaching full time. She taught 6th grade English was a middle school Reading Specialist for three years at YES Prep Public Schools. During this time, her energy was spent ensuring all of her students received the education they deserved. In 2016, Emily and her husband moved to Denver to live more of their life outdoors.
Upon moving to Colorado, Emily joined a pickup field hockey league that plays once a week. She initially joined because she missed the sport and craved that field hockey workout that you cannot find in a gym. Through this league, she discovered St. Mary's was looking for a field hockey coach, and Emily jumped on the opportunity to be back teaching the sport she grew up loving so much. Outside of school and coaching, Emily loves all forms of exercising including hiking, yoga, pilates, and cycling. She finds joy in an active lifestyle and teaches that a balanced mind is a healthy mind.
