Tierra grew up in Denver and has been playing lacrosse most of her life. In the third grade she began playing lacrosse for the boy’s. She started to play girl’s lacrosse in fourth grade as soon as it was available. Tierra started playing club lacrosse in 7th grade for Team 180. She took her passion for the game to Denver East HS. She led her team to multiple Final Four appearances and was able to compete in the state-championship her junior year. Tierra was named captain her senior season at Denver East. At East, Tierra earned multiple honors such as Honorable Mention, First-Team and Midfielder of the Year throughout her years. Her senior season she led the state with the most ground balls.
Tierra was then honored to have the opportunity to play for Cornell Alumni and Hall of Fame, Coach Sarah Kellner at Regis University. Tierra saw action in 56 games while making 53 starts. At Regis, she was a 4-year letter winner and was a key component and force to their defense. She worked her way up and was named co-captain her senior year. Tierra and the Rangers had a very successful career. In 2014 and 2017, Regis won the RMAC Championship. #12 Regis upset nationally ranked #2 Lindenwood in the RMAC Championship and won a bid to their first NCAA DII Tournament. Regis ended their 2017 season being nationally ranked as #7. Tierra graduated Regis University with B.A. in Communications and Business Administration. She previously coached for 3d Lacrosse and Denver City Lax. She is excited to be involved with St. Mary’s Academy and to share her passion for the sport!
