Senior Blair Franciscus has been named a Boettcher Foundation Scholarship finalist. The Boettcher Scholarship Foundation seeks dynamic students, doers, and difference-makers to impact Colorado positively. This merit-based scholarship identifies students based on their scholastic ability, intellectual curiosity, leadership, service, and character.
Blair stands out as an excellent student and as an advocate for service. Her volunteer efforts at the Tennyson Center for Children and the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center sparked her interest in accessible mental health care and educational opportunities for children in Colorado.
Since her ninth grade year, Blair has served as a teen advisory board member to BeMe Health, Inc. As one of just 15 inaugural teen advisors selected nationwide, she collaborates with BeMe executives, psychologists, and software developers to create and expand the mobile app offering free mental health services to teens across the country. Blair’s influence has been instrumental in shaping the content, usability, and features associated with the app. The impactful work of Blair and the BeMe Teen Advisors garnered national attention, where they were featured on Good Morning America in 2022. Blair was also invited to participate in Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation’s Mental Health Conference in 2023.
Blair also recognizes the transformative power of book ownership for children in protective services. In 2021, she founded a non-profit literacy campaign, Books Ignite Colorado, with a mission to spark literacy and provide books to children in foster care. Blair received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award in 2021 for outstanding community engagement.
Blair competes on the swim, field hockey, and tennis teams; is an officer of the National Honors Society; plays drums in Jazz Band, and serves as the co-president of the Investment Club.
Recipients of the Boettcher Foundation Scholarship will be announced in May. We are so proud of Blair as a scholar, athlete, and powerful agent of change. Congrats, Blair!
