On Saturday, Feb. 11, St. Mary’s Academy achieved fourth place in the 3A State Championships. The team finishes included three first-place and three second-place event finishes. Additionally, Caitlin Crysel broke the school and 3A state record in the 200 Yard IM at 2:04.38, beating her previous score of 2:05.34.

Coach Kelly Shipley was also named Coach of the Year! And Devon Chambers was the first SMA diver to qualify for state championships in 10 years!

On Feb. 4, the Swim and Dive Team placed first in the Tri-Peaks League Championship for the second consecutive year in the 3A division!

• Ninth place - 200 Yard Freestyle, Ella Yearsley (Grade 12)

• Tenth place - 100 Yard Backstroke, Blair Franciscus

• Eleventh place - 50 Yard Freestyle, Madison Crysel

• Twelfth place - 100 Yard Freestyle, Blair Franciscus

• Twelfth place - 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Kate Callender, Annika Damon (Grade 9), Lauren Anderson (Grade 10), Ella Yearsley

• Fifteenth place - 100 Yard Butterfly, Ella Yearsley
