Ellie White Wins Individual State Tennis Title
St. Mary's Academy

SMA proudly announces senior Ellie White has captured the 3A Girls Individual State Tennis Championship, staging an impressive comeback to defeat her opponent 1-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Throughout her distinguished high school career, Ellie has been a standout athlete, consistently holding the #1 singles position for all four years. During her senior year, her record is marked by only a single loss.

“Ellie is a true game-changer, both on and off the court,” said Jenn Bradley, Athletic Director of SMA. “Her championship performance exemplifies the dedication and excellence we value in our scholar-athletes.”

SMA also celebrates its #4 doubles team of junior Emalisa Martinez and sophomore Mary Kate Reagan-Wilson, who earned second place at the state championship. This year, SMA reached the state championship finals in two out of seven berths.

This tennis championship adds to St. Mary's Academy's impressive athletic record. Recent achievements include state championships in Swim & Dive (2024) and Golf (2021, 2022, 2023), alongside consistent regional qualifications in a wide array of sports such as Basketball, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Track & Field, and Volleyball.

More than 75% of SMA High School students actively participate in one or more sports annually.  The Academy recognizes the strong relationship between academics and athletics, as scholar-athletes develop stronger physical and mental health, improved academic performance, and essential teamwork and leadership skills.
