Clubs and Activities
St. Mary's Academy is brimming with an exciting array of clubs and enriching activities tailored to each division of our vibrant community. In every division there's something for every student's interests and passions. Our clubs foster creativity, teamwork, leadership, and personal growth, providing a platform for students to explore their hobbies, cultivate new talents, and connect with like-minded peers. Whether it's delving into STEAM projects, participating in community service initiatives, immersing in the arts, or engaging in academic pursuits, our diverse range of activities empowers students to embark on exciting journeys beyond the classroom.
Lower School
Lower School students participate in Destination Imagination (DI), a transformative program that nurtures and innovate capacities of young minds. Through DI, our students collaborate in teams to tackle open-ended STEAM challenges that encourage them to embrace the creative process. This process empowers them to analyze problems critically, ask insightful questions, develop innovative solutions, embrace setbacks as learning opportunities, and celebrate their achievements. This immersive experience not only shapes their present but also equips them for success and leadership in their future endeavors.
In 2023, three competitive and one Rising Stars team (noncompeting) represented SMA at the DI South Metro Regional Tournament, with all three competitive teams placing!
Middle School
Students in the Middle School are encouraged to participate in at one activity outside the classroom, including competitive athletics. Middle School students may choose clubs and activities that provide them with opportunities for leadership, collaboration, and personal development.
High School
At the High School, students join together with like-minded classmates or branch out into a new passion. SMA offers tremendous opportunities for engagement in our community. Every SMA student participates in a club, which meets once a month during the school day and more often for special projects. Students may also choose to participate in any number of organizations.
