Live on the wild side at St. Mary's Academy Summer Camps!
Join us for summer camps at St. Mary’s Academy, where we dive into whole-child play, learning, engagement, and FUN for students entering Kindergarten through Grade 8! You can expect camp offerings with experiences in:
- Adventure and scouting skills
- STEAM exploration
- Sports including basketball and soccer
- Gardening and horticulture
- Outer space examination
- Movement-based art and mindfulness
- Babysitter certification
- Middle School math bootcamp

2023 Lower School Camp Offerings
Week 1
Scout Week
Join St. Mary’s Academy as we kick-off summer, scout-style! Come and celebrate the beginning of summer, learn wilderness survival skills and find out what it’s really like to be an explorer! Expect physical, s.t.e.a.m-based and creative activities that get campers connected to their exploratory and adventurous sides!
Week 2
STEAM Week
Did someone say science, technology, engineering, art AND math!? We sure did! Join us this week as students get curious about the world around them through a new lens! From exploring bubbles to building structures out of edible materials, this week we explore with our five senses, explore with science tools, engineering minds and creative spirits!
Week 3
Challenger Soccer
Join Challenger International Soccer as they teach campers whole player development at St. Mary’s Academy. Giving students “every opportunity to succeed at the highest level, each session encourages experimentation and a positive learning environment”. Campers have the opportunity to learn from soccer coaches from all over the world as they develop their soccer and sportsmanship skills. Can’t make it this week? Challenger Sports will be back later this summer!
9-12 p.m., with optional extended care 1-3 p.m. provided by Challenger Sports.

Week 6
Move It Week
This week Wildcats get moving, shaking, grooving, running, jumping, skipping, crawling, limbo-ing and wiggling in the summer sun! Students will embark on a variety of movement-based art, science, and mindfulness activities to get their minds working and bodies moving.
Hoops Troop Basketball Camp: Building on the Basics
9 - 11 a.m.
Highlights include:
- Recreational and Competitive skill levels welcome
- Coaches and high school players will work to instruct players of all skill levels in basketball fundamentals.
- Skill development includes shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defense, etc.
- Drills, skill stations, basic form and gameplay in a league format to end each session, either 3x3 or 5x5 depending on camp participation level.
- Players will be using size 6 basketballs - 28.5 in (camp provided).
- Players will need a water bottle and healthy snacks each day.
- Praise the HUSTLE! - Players should come ready to work hard and hustle.
- Every player receives a basketball jersey and a drawstring bag (campers who have participated in previous weeks will receive alternative camp swag)
- Players will be divided onto courts based on age and skill level.
- Daily contests and prizes.
- One lucky camper will bring home a Dribbleup Smart Basketball!
Week 7
Colorful Colorado
Did you know SMA and our great state of Colorado share a birthday?! That's right! Celebrate all week long as SMA turns 159 and Colorado turns 147 during this last week of camp! There will be birthday festivities, crafts, and more!

2023 Middle School Camp Offerings
Week 1
American Red Cross Babysitter Certification
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Ready to jump into your career in childcare?! Learn what it takes to be a responsible, creative and professional caregiver. Gain skills in CPR and first aid, creative thinking and appropriate supervision as well as learn some of the basics of setting up your own babysitting business! Participants who join will receive their own babysitting bag, booklet and CPR mask! All who join will also receive their official American Red Cross Certification in CPR, first aid and babysitting.
Week 2
Rising Stars Basketball Camp: Focus on the Fundamentals
Highlights include:
- Recreational and Competitive skill levels welcome
- Coaches and high school players will work to instruct players of all skill levels in basketball fundamentals.
- Skill development includes shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defense, etc.
- Drills, skill stations, basic form and gameplay in a league format to end each session, either 3x3 or 5x5 depending on camp participation level.
- Players will be using size 6 basketballs - 28.5 in (camp provided).

Week 3
Rising Stars Basketball Camp: Level-Up Your Game
Highlights include:
- Recreational and Competitive skill levels
- Coaches and high school players will work to instruct players of all skill levels in basketball fundamentals.
- This WEEK 2 session will be a swift review of week 1 and then will focus on the development of more advanced skills, team building through team based activities, and learning what it means to protect your “house” on the court.
- Campers will learn to further refine shooting technique, free throws, offensive moves, footwork, rebounding, defensive strategies, ball-handling, and passing.
- Each session will include gameplay and guidance each step of the way with our Freeze, Learn, Master technique.
- Gameplay in a league format to end each session, either 3x3 or 5x5 depending on camp participation level.
- Players will be using size 6 basketballs - 28.5 in (camp provided).
- Players will need a water bottle and healthy snacks each day.
- Praise the HUSTLE! - Players should come ready to work hard and hustle.

Week 4
Grade 6 Math Boot Camp Session 1
8:30 - 10 a.m.
Get a JUMP on Middle School by building a more solid mathematical foundation of number sense with regard to place value, decimals and fractions, all while building rapport with other incoming 6th graders. In 6th Grade Summer Math Boot Camp Session 1, students will learn how to take notes properly in preparation for Mrs. Schmidt’s Math class and spend time playing fun math games that deepen the student’s understanding of factors, multiples, divisibility, decimals, fractions and place value. This camp is a perfect introduction into Session 2 (offered July 31-Aug 4) which focuses on an overall review of mathematical operations of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions.
Week 5
Grade 6 Math Boot Camp Session 2
8:30 - 10 a.m.
Get a JUMP on Middle School by refreshing concepts learned in fifth grade math! In 6th Grade Summer Math Boot Camp Session 2, students will review all operations of whole numbers, decimals and fractions in preparation for the upcoming year. Reviewing concepts, practicing problems, and taking notes “Mrs. Schmidt” style are concrete ways for a smooth transition into 6th grade math. Completing Session 1 and Session 2 will leave you comfortable, confident, and ready for math this fall!
Grade 7 Math Boot Camp Session 2
10 - 11:30 am
Start 7th grade off on the right foot by reviewing math concepts learned last year in 6th grade. In 7th Grade Summer Math Boot Camp, students will review order of operations, exponents, square roots, rules of divisibility, finding GCF and LCM using prime factorization, as well as operations with whole numbers and decimals.
