Legacy Giving

An endowment is a fund that assures the future of an institution. Endowment funds are conservatively invested. Our total endowment as of June 30, 2023 is $16,803,402. The Endowment Fund, held in trust and invested in perpetuity, is a fund that will help assure the future of St. Mary’s Academy. A gift to the endowment is a gift to the community of St. Mary’s Academy and an assurance that our legacy will continue to be available to young people far into the future. St. Mary’s Academy wishes to acknowledge the following donors who have established named endowment funds:

Planned Giving

Loretto Legacy Society

Founded to honor the 140th anniversary of Loretto education and values at St. Mary’s Academy, the Loretto Legacy Society recognizes the generosity of alumnae, parents, grandparents and friends who make provisions for St. Mary’s Academy in their estate plans. A bequest or life income gift demonstrates a partnership with SMA and its mission to provide an excellent education in the Loretto tradition. Your planned gift, via a trust, annuity, insurance policy or bequest can:

  • Help ensure the future of St. Mary’s Academy

  • Save you tax dollars

  • Assist you in avoiding capital gains taxes

  • May even increase your current income (in some cases)

Learn more establishing a planned gift, please contact Ann Buttitta Director of Development, at 303-762-8300 or
