Thank you to everyone who participated in supporting St. Mary's Academy on SMA Giving Day! Our community raised more than $820,000 from 1101 donors with 74% parent participation and 223 gifts from alumnae. Thank you for your generosity!

The SMA Fund provides necessary funding above and beyond tuition to ensure a preeminent educational student experience and will focus on three priority areas of impact:

Faculty Excellence and Distinction

Attracting, retaining, and developing top-tier teachers who deliver inspirational educational experiences and instill a sense of purpose, curiosity, and ambition in SMA students.

Examples of this priority area in action might include professional development, faculty bonuses, recruitment, and ensuring low student-teacher ratios.

This might include STEAM initiatives, MakerSpaces, enhanced course offerings, experiential learning, field trips, enhanced programmatic innovations, and more!

Signature Student Experience

Nurturing the whole student through investment in the arts, athletics, leadership, clubs, and adventures.

This priority area in action could include athletics enhancements, clubs, student trips, musicals and plays, field days, and more

Why give to sma?

Your support of the St. Mary’s Academy Annual Fund impacts programs that allow our students to explore their curiosities, creativity, and passions to build a brighter future. While tuition covers a large portion of our budget, the SMA Fund is essential to producing enriching academic, creative, social, and athletic experiences for our students. The SMA Fund also supports Faculty Excellence and Distinction by attracting, retaining, and developing top-tier teachers who deliver inspirational education.  We depend on the generosity of our parents, grandparents, friends, alumnae, and staff to support our school.

Please contact Director of Development Ann Buttitta, abutttitta@smanet.org , to learn more about the role of philanthropy at SMA or to join the Loretto Legacy Society by including St. Mary’s Academy in your estate plans.

The SMA Fund helps your students to become curious about robotics and engineering, to learn how to play instruments and read music, to express themselves creatively, to take field trips and learn more about the outside world, to grow their reading and math skills, and so much more.
