St. Mary’s Academy is committed to providing our students with every opportunity to learn, grow, realize their potential, and become powerful agents of change. We depend on our community – current SMA families as well as alumnae – to help us fulfill that mission.
“Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless”.
– SHERRY ANDERSON

Annual Fund Grade Reps/Advancement Committee Volunteers: Help coordinate fundraising that will enhance academic excellence and benefit the St. Mary’s Academy community.
Annual Gala: Our annual Gala is a St. Mary’s Academy fundraising/community building event dedicated to tuition assistance and school improvements. Each spring parents, faculty, administration, alumnae and friends gather for a fun and festive evening of auction bidding, dining, entertainment, and socializing.
Fall Festival: Cancelled for 2020. This is a fun family event featuring games, prizes, food, and entertainment. We seek enthusiastic, creative parents who enjoy brain-storming and thinking like a kid!
Grandparents’ Day: Tentatively rescheduled for the Spring of 2021. A morning program held the last school day before Thanksgiving break that welcomes grandparents or grand friends to visit the Academy and see their grandchildren’s school.
High School: Stay involved with our community with a variety of options, including After-Prom, communications committee, open house, and more.
Lower School: While the amount of volunteer opportunities in the Lower School have decreased due to Covid-19, there are still a few opportunities to stay involved and help
Middle School: Choose the opportunity that fits your schedule and skills, including new parent events, lunch servers, and more.
Academy Parents: All parents and guardians who have a student at St. Mary's Academy are considered an Academy Parent. Academy Parents is the name of the parent community that supports the mission of SMA through volunteering and acting as an internal marketing resource. Academy Parents meet monthly during the school year. Parents are reminded of these meetings in the Wildcat Weekly. All are welcome.
Prayer Group: We believe prayer can make a positive difference. Parents, grandparents, guardians, teachers, or interested family members are invited to gather and pray for any special intentions as well as praying for their St. Mary’s Academy children, the administration, faculty, and staff.
Volunteer Corps: Work on an as-needed basis with projects that may include help with large mailings, general office assistance, and more.
The SMA community is involved and contributes in a variety of ways to support activities in all three divisions of the school. Whether working alongside middle school students preparing sandwiches for those in need, working in small math groups in the lower school, or surprising the high school students with an abundance of snacks, our SMA parents are vital to our community. Our families are greeters for new family events, game organizers for our all-academy Fall Festival, and much more. We couldn’t do what we do without you!
Many SMA community members choose to volunteer with our Academy Parents or Alumnae Association. Others generously give their time and energy to our special events such as Fall Festival, Bingo Night, Grandparents Day, or our Annual Gala in the spring.
We are grateful for the support of our community members and invite you to contact Academy Parents or the Advancement Office to learn how you can contribute your time and talents. For more information on how you can support SMA, please call 303.762.8300.
